Welcome to the Database of Archival Description (DAD).
This database houses descriptions of all material held
in the archives of the Guelph Public Library. DAD allows
researchers to identify archival records germane to their
research, provides them with contextual information on the
creators of these records, identifies any access restrictions
or conditions of use, and gives clear instructions on requesting
access to desired material. The descriptions in this database
conform to the Rules for Archival Description (RAD), a standard
used by the archival community throughout Canada to guide how
archives provide access to their materials.
